The
Children's Heart Center at Children's Hospital of New Jersey provides
extraordinary care for infants and children with congenital heart and
lung disease. The Children’s Heart Center is the only facility
of its kind in New Jersey offering the expertise and resources to provide
a comprehensive range of services including prenatal, neonatal and pediatric
diagnostic, interventional and cardiothoracic surgical services. The
state-of-the-art 10-bed Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, the only one in
New Jersey, provides for care of these special infants, and children
in a family-centered environment using a team approach.
Dedicated cardiothoracic surgeons, cardiologists, cardiac intensivists,
cardiothoracic anesthesiologists, nurse practitioners and clinical nurse
specialists are available for consultation across the entire spectrum
of pediatric, fetal, and “grown-up” congenital heart disease.
When families visit The Children's Heart Center for evaluation or follow-up
visits, a comprehensive array of ancillary diagnostic services are immediately
available. From diagnostic testing to consultations with other specialists,
patient visits are structured such that the family leaves fully informed
about the diagnosis and treatment plan.
