During the past several years, the Department of Dentistry has
grown tremendously and currently manages patients in the following
areas:
• Cosmetic Dentistry
• Craniofacial anomalies
• Dental implantology
• Endodontics
• Facial pain
• Geriatric dentistry
• Oral & maxillofacial surgery
• Oral diagnosis
• Orthodontics
• Periodontics
• Prosthodontics
• Restorative Dentistry
• Tempro-mandibular joint dysfunction
In fact, some of the most advanced surgical procedures in the
state have been performed at Monmouth, including tempro-mandibular
joint arthroscopy and orthognathic surgery,
Facilities include six dental operatories with mobile dental units
for four-handed procedures. Mobile equipment is available for use
in the operating room for pediatric, general dentistry cases, and
oral surgery cases.
Each year, the dental staff handles 8,000 outpatient visits, and
200 admissions and short stay patients.
The department is strongly committed to the community, as it spearheads
a host of outreach programs to the disabled, including those with
cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, cystic fibrosis and developmental
disabilities to the geriatric population, migrant workers and to
the Long Branch students.
