Barry Elbaum, D.D.S.

Dr. Barry Elbaum currently serves as Chairman of the Department of Dentistry at Monmouth Medical Center where he has been chair for the past eighteen years. 
He is past President of the Monmouth/Ocean County Dental Society and has served as Director of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Jersey Shore Medical Center, CentraState Medical Center and Monmouth Medical Center.

Dr. Elbaum graduated from New York University College of Dentistry and completed his four year Oral Surgery Specialty Training Program at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City.

He is a Fellow of both the American and International Societies of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and is a Fellow of the American Society of Dental Anesthesiology and a Fellow and Diplomate of the International Congress of Oral Implantology.  Dr. Elbaum is in private practice and has been for more then 38 years.

Michelle E. Ziegler, D.D.S.

Dr. Ziegler currently serves as the full time Director of the General Practice Residency Program.  She has done so since 2001.

Dr. Ziegler graduated from New York University College of Dentistry.  Her undergraduate training includes a BS from Columbia University and an AS in Dental Hygiene from the University of Pennsylvania  School of Dental Medicine.

Dr. Ziegler’s postgraduate training includes a two year General Practice Residency at Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY where she served as Chief her PGY2 year.

Dr. Ziegler has been involved in postgraduate teaching for over 12 years, 8 of which has been as a program director.

In addition, Residents receive their dental education from a highly regarded Dental Staff that consists of more than 50 general practitioners and specialists in all areas of clinical dentistry.  Every discipline is lead by a Section Chief who coordinates didactic and clinical experience in that discipline with the Program Director

Physicians in medicine, surgery, pediatrics, anesthesiology and emergency medicine offer expertise to residents on a clinical rotation.

A full-time director of research in medical education assists each resident with a research project, paper and presentation.
