GENERAL PRACTICE RESIDENCY PROGRAM

The emphasis of Monmouth Medical Center’s general practice residency in dental medicine is on comprehensive dental treatment that is part of total patient care.

Residents garner the education, training, skills and experience:

  • To plan and provide or manage multidisciplinary patient-focused oral health care for a variety of patients including patients with special needs while minimizing the need for referral.
  • To function effectively within the hospital environment.
  • To understand the oral health needs of the community and to provide community service.
  • To develop a professional commitment to life long learning that incorporates evidence-based decision making processes and quality management methodologies.

This is a one year PGY1 program that begins July 1 through June 30 with an option of continuing for a second year PGY2 chief residency position.
