Physicians in Monmouth Medical
Center's four-year diagnostic radiology
residency program become skilled practitioners in the
latest imaging techniques, preparing them to enter private
practice or to secure post residency fellowships.
90% of our residents,
upon graduation, do a fellowship in a sub-specialty of
their choice. Almost all of them get their first choice
through the fellowship match or outside the match. Out
of the last three graduates, one is doing a fellowship
in Interventional Radiology at Northwestern in Chicago,
one is doing Pediatric Radiology at Children’s Hospital
of Philadelphia and one is doing Neuroradiology at the
University of Florida in Gainesville. Some graduates who
have already done a fellowship in Nuclear Medicine often
go directly into Private Practice. Past graduates have
done fellowships at Cornell, Mt. Sinai, Memorial Sloan-Kettering
Cancer Center in New York and other prestigious institutions.
The Board Passage rate
has been excellent in the recent past. All residents taking
the Physics portion of the Boards passed in the last two
years and the three graduating residents in 2007 passed
the Written and Oral portion of the Boards in 2006 and
2007.
