Michael Rosen, MD, FAAP, FACEP
Director of Pediatric Emergency Medicine
Director of the Fellowship Program in Pediatric Emergency Medicine

Dr. Rosen is a graduate of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, NY. He did his residency training at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY and has been board certified in Pediatric Emergency Medicine since 1994. At Maimonides Medical Center, Dr. Rosen was the Fellowship Director for nine years, the Pediatric Advanced Life Support Course Director for over ten years and also served as the Associate Pediatric Emergency Department Director. His interests include sedation, emergency orthopedic and surgical procedures, and use of electronic media to enhance bedside teaching.


Samir Joshi, MDSamir Joshi, MD completed his residency in General Pediatrics at Woodhull Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY and his Fellowship in Pediatric Emergency Medicine at the Children’s Hospital of Michigan. His research interests include pediatric asthma managements and pediatric psychiatric emergencies.

 


Charles Osei, MD graduated from Ghana Medical School and served as a Medical Officer in Accident and Emergency Medicine at Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Ghana. Dr. Osei completed his Pediatric Residency at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center and has been a Clinician Teacher at the Newark Beth Israel Medical Center Pediatric Emergency Department since June 2000.


Catherine Scarfi, MD completed her General Pediatric Residency and served as Chief Resident at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center. She then completed her Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship at Jacobi Medical Center. Her interests include environmental emergencies and resident education.


Adam Sivitz, MD is the Director of Pediatric Emergency Medicine Education.  He completed his Pediatric Residency and Chief Residency at Schneider Children’s Hospital in New Hyde Park, NY and a Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship at Hasbro Children’s Hospital in Providence, RI.  He participates in supervision and teaching of patient care during clinical rotations and facilitates administration of the core curriculum weekly lectures and small group seminars. He is involved in mentorship for fellow and resident research projects. Current active research interests include the application of bedside ultrasound to pediatric emergency medicine, and adolescent STD/HIV screening.
