Dr. Bishburg joined NBIMC faculty in 1989 after serving 21/2 years as the medical director for the division of AIDS in the NJ department of health. Where he helped design and implement numerous treatment programs and research initiatives as the AIDS epidemic was unfolding.

When he joined NBIMC he set up the adult division of infectious diseases and opened the AIDS clinic which now serves over 700 active men women and children.

Dr Bishburg  has been involved in medical education since his arrival and has been active in teaching medical residents and students. Dr Bishburg served as the associate director for the internal medicine residency program and , the chief of infectious diseases and since 2007 the director of the infectious diseases fellowship program.

His main interests are Device associated infections, transplant related infections and mycobacterial infections.

A fellow of the Infectious Diseases Society of America and member of many other professional organizations.

Dr Slim has been involved in teaching infectious diseases for 20 years. He has been involved in multiple  research initiatives in the fields of HIV and has been involved as principal or co investigator multiple drug  trials for HIV. hepatitis B and C.

Dr Slim has been an advisor to a number of pharmaceutical companies assisting in the design and implementation of drug trials.

Dr Slim has been involved in the field of STD teaching various courses in this field.

Dr. Slim joined NBIMC ID fellowship  faculty in 2005, teaches the fellows and serves also as a research advisor.

He is a consultant in Infectious Diseases at Saint Michael's Medical Center in Newark, NJ, at Pope John Paul Life Care Center, Orange NJ, Saint Barnabas Medical Center, Livingston NJ, and Clara Maass Medical Center, Belleville NJ.

His areas of interest are HIV, HCV, and nosocomial infections.

Dr. Engell joined NBIMC faculty in 2008 after completing his fellowship in infectious diseases at NYU.

His main interests include HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis, and transplant related infections.

Dr. Engell is actively involved in teaching the fellows and in the department’s clinical research projects.

He is board certified in internal medicine and infectious disease.

Dr Engell is a member of the Infectious Diseases Society of America and many other professional organizations.
