Newark Beth Israel Medical Center and Children's Hospital of New
Jersey residents receive extensive exposure to both adults and
children in all aspects of primary, subspecialty and critical care.
Graduates are comfortable and confident in outpatient and inpatient
care and may continue on to a fellowship or enter a career as a
hospitalist in emergent care or office-based practice.
We offer a broad spectrum of clinical exposure to all age groups.
Our Children’s Hospital services include a Level 3 NICU with
the only ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation) center in the
state, school-based health clinics, a mobile community health program
and a 19-bed PICU. In addition, our pediatric service includes
over 20 different pediatric subspecialities including Pediatric
Anesthesia, Pediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery, as well as
Pediatric Hematology and Oncology, just to name a few. The adult
service includes cardiac, renal and pulmonary transplant centers,
a 24-bed CCU, 17-bed ICU and an established Geriatric Center. Adult
fellowships offered include Cardiology, Pulmonary/Critical Care,
Hematology and Oncology, as well as Nephrology.
