Karen
P. Beckerman, M.D.
Chair, Obstetrics and Gynecology
Newark Beth Israel Medical Center
Karen Beckerman, M.D., is Chair of Obstetrics and Gynecology
at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center and a graduate of Barnard
College in New York City. Board certified in obstetrics
and gynecology, she attended the University of North Carolina
School of Medicine in Chapel Hill, NC, and completed her
internship at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Medical Center,
New York, and her residency at The Jewish Hospital of St.
Louis, Washington University School of Medicine. Dr. Beckerman
pursued fellowships in maternal fetal medicine, pharmacology
and immunology, all at Washington University School of Medicine.
Dr. Beckerman is a Clinical Associate
Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology
at New York University School of Medicine. She has participated
in extensive research endeavors in perinatology and maternal
fetal medicine, particularly in the area of AIDS and HIV
infection during pregnancy. Dr. Beckerman lectures both
nationally and internationally and is widely published.

Paul
George Stumpf, M.D.

Paul Stumpf, M.D., is Vice Chair of the Department of Obstetrics
and Gynecology and Chief of Reproductive Endocrinology at
Newark Beth Israel Medical Center and a graduate of Fordham
University, New York. Board certified in obstetrics and
gynecology and reproductive endocrinology, Dr. Stumpf received
his medical degree from the State University of New York-Health
Science Center, Brooklyn, and completed his internship and
residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University
of Southern California in Los Angeles, where he also completed
a research fellowship in reproductive endocrinology.
Dr. Stumpf is a Clinical Professor of
Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences at the
University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey –
Robert Wood Johnson (Rutgers) Medical School. He has written
numerous articles, book chapters and abstracts on reproductive
endocrinology and related subjects for professional and
scientific publications. He lectures extensively on topics
in primary women’s health care and in reproductive
endocrinology, particularly menopause, contraception, androgen
excess and hormone administration.

Martin
L. Gimovsky, M.D.
Residency Program Director, Obstetrics and Gynecology
Newark Beth Israel Medical Center
Martin L. Gimovsky, M.D., board certified in obstetrics
and gynecology and in maternal fetal medicine, is the Residency
Program Director for the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology
at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center. A graduate of the
New York University School of Medicine, he completed his
residency at The Sloane Hospital for Women, Columbia-Presbyterian
Medical Center, N.Y. He went on to complete a fellowship
in maternal fetal medicine at Los Angeles County/University
of Southern California Medical Center, Los Angeles, California.
Dr. Gimovsky is a Clinical Professor
of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Mount Sinai School of
Medicine. He has had a life-long interest in student and
resident education in obstetrics and gynecology and has
authored several textbooks and many articles on operative
obstetrics. Dr. Gimovsky serves as an examiner for the American
Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is actively involved
in the Association of Professors of Gynecology and Obstetrics
(APGO) and in the American College of Obstetricians and
Gynecologists.

John
Hatchard, M.D.

John Hatchard, M.D. is the Assistant
Program Director for the OB/GYN Residency Program at Newark
Beth Israel Medical Center. Board certified in Obstetrics
and Gynecology, Dr. Hatchard received his medical degree
from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey
(UMDNJ) - New Jersey Medical School and went on to complete
both his internship and residency at UMDNJ University Hospital,
where he currently serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor
in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He has had
extensive teaching experience instructing medical students
and residents in Obstetrics and Gynecology as well as residents
in Radiology rotating through OB/GYN ultrasonography.

Joseph
Polcaro, M.D.
Director, OB/GYN Clerkship
Newark Beth Israel Medical Center
Board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology,
Joseph Polcaro, D.O., serves as the Director of the OB/GYN
Clerkship at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center. A graduate
of the University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic
Medicine in Kansas City, Missouri, Dr. Polcaro completed
his postgraduate training at St. Michael’s Medical
Center, Newark, and pursued a fellowship in Maternal Fetal
Medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx,
N.Y.
Dr. Polcaro is an Associate Professor
at St.George School of Medicine and has lectured extensively
on issues related to Maternal Fetal Medicine. He has a special
interest in the role of mentoring as a means to train future
obstetricians and gynecologists.
