Saint Barnabas Medical Center is located in a suburban region about 20 miles west of New York City. Direct bus and train service to New York is available. Newark International Airport is an easy 20-minute drive away.
There are several theaters in close proximity to Saint Barnabas Medical Center, including The Paper Mill Playhouse, a highly regarded professional theater; The PNC Arts Center which features diversified programs in dance, music, and theater; and the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, a world class performing arts center. Not too far is The Prudential Center which hosts NHL’s New Jersey Devils, Seton Hall Men’s Basketball, MISLs New Jersey Iron Men Indoor Soccer Team, concerts, family shows, and special events as well as other professional, collegiate and amateur sporting events. The South Mountain Reservation, offering over 2000 acres of picnic areas, forest, and hiking and bridle trails, is less than a mile from the Medical Center.
The area boasts many fine restaurants, public golf courses, indoor and outdoor tennis courts, an ice-skating rink, and a small zoo. The Meadowlands Sports Complex is a short drive away for football, basketball, hockey and horse racing fans. The famed beaches of the Jersey Shore and Atlantic City are an hour or two by car.
The cultural treasures of New York City are easily accessed while maintaining spacious suburban living. There are also several nearby colleges and universities.
