Our Philosophy, Your Breast Health

Our facility is a comprehensive breast care center, which means that we approach care from a holistic, intensive perspective and are committed to helping individuals achieve and maintain breast health. All mammograms at The Breast Center are performed by highly trained, licensed and certified female radiological technologists.

Triple Assurance for Digital Screening Mammograms

The Breast Center is one of the only facilities in the region offering triple-assurance to patients having a digital screening mammogram. Two standard views are taken of each breast as part of the standard screening mammography protocol. The mammography films are processed by a Computer Aided Detection (CAD) System, which highlights any suspicious features it finds that may warrant additional review. Two radiologists then independently review the films.

This process provides patients with the additional benefit of a new technology that studies show greatly assists physicians in identifying cancer at an early stage. In addition, it also provides patients with the security of knowing that two of Saint Barnabas' highly skilled, dedicated breast radiologists will review the films. This triple-assurance protocol exceeds the standard of care available at other mammography/imaging facilities.

The Breast Center is conducting triple-assurance for all digital screening mammograms in its efforts to provide the highest level of quality care possible. It also represents the strong commitment of Saint Barnabas to promoting early detection of breast cancer.

The Breast Center is accredited by the American College of Radiology (ACR) and is inspected annually by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) under the Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA). The technologists and the mammography staff at The Breast Center are all female to ensure a higher comfort level.
