Children born with abnormalities of the lip, palate, head
or face or any type of head or facial deformities require
a multi-tiered strategy to optimize their functioning and
quality of life. Beyond improving cosmetic issues, these
young patients often need help swallowing, eating, speaking
clearly and maintaining positive self-esteem.
Multidisciplinary services are available at the Saint Barnabas
Regional Craniofacial Center, where we offer a comprehensive
team approach to the treatment of craniofacial deformities.
Founded in 1951, the center is the oldest established facility
of its kind in the greater metropolitan area. We have treated
over 200 children seen annually in 2006 and 2007 with different
types of head and facial deformities.
