Refractive Surgery is an outpatient procedure which allows refractive errors --- nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism --- to be corrected with the skill and expertise of an ophthalmologic surgeon and the technology of the laser. Laser vision correction uses a cool beam of light to gently reshape the curvature of the eye, the cornea, which improves vision. The light gently pulses to remove the curvature of the cornea, allowing images to be more sharply focused on the retina.

CustomVue™ helps to enable the patient’s optimal vision as it helps to customize the LASIK procedure to meet his or her individual eye. Using WaveScan WaveFront® technology, it corrects nearsightedness and/or astigmatism by measuring the fine imperfections of each eye. Through this measurement, an individualized, custom “map” is created that the laser uses as a guide in the correction process.
