Comprehensive pediatric pathology services offer essential support for all other pediatric specialties at Children’s Hospital of New Jersey. Pediatric Pathology is a part of the Department of Laboratory and Pathology that is staffed by 6 board certified pathologists including a board certified pediatric pathologist along with a full complement of support personnel including medical technologists who are specially trained to work with children. The services encompass the analysis and diagnosis of tissue specimens removed at surgery, lab testing of blood and other specimens. Unique aspects of the program include:

• A laboratory attuned to the care of children and equipped with instruments capable of analyzing minute samples of blood obtained from tiny infants
• Round-the-clock coverage that is provided to pediatricians, pediatric sub specialists and surgeons with the expertise of a board certified pediatric pathologist
