Our Philosophy

The goal of the Joint and Spine Institute at Clara Maass Medical Center is to improve the overall quality of life and health of the patients we serve.  We will do this through innovative and progressive resources, evidence based practice with dedicated and committed service, focused towards creating an Orthopedic Center of Excellence.

As compassionate caregivers, meeting the needs of our patients is important to us.  By listening, educating and partnering with you, we expect to have quality outcomes that meet the goals not only of our patients and families, but also our health care system.

By using a multidisciplinary approach, we will manage every aspect of your surgical care including your preoperative needs, performing your surgery, managing your hospital stay and planning for your after care.  Our performance improvement process will allow us to not only measure our performance and monitor quality, but will also enable us to compare it to other facilities and improve our results.

We will strive to improve our team and individual performance.  You can expect that you will be treated respectfully and with dignity; that we will be attentive to your individualized and special needs; that call bells will be answered promptly and that all questions and concerns will be responded to quickly.  All staff and volunteers involved in this program will abide by these principles.
