Belleville, NJ – Joe Wojtecki, Director of Food Services
at Clara Maass Medical Center was recently elected the 2009 President
Elect of the Greater New Jersey Society for Healthcare Food Service
Administrators (GNJSHFSA), a chapter of the American Society for
Healthcare Food Service Administrators (ASHFSA). In 2010, he will
serve as GNJSHFSA President.
“I am honored to have been nominated and elected by my peers
to lead a fantastic organization like GNJSHFSA in 2010,” said
Wojtecki.
For more than 40 years, ASHFSA has been the premier source of
professional education and information for food and nutrition service
management professionals. Members represent over 1,000 health care
institutions across the country, and serve in roles such as directors
or administrators responsible for patient food service management,
cafeteria/vending/catering management, clinical nutrition services
and support services/multi-department or multi-unit management.
Wojtecki has been Director of Food Services at Clara Maass Medical
Center since 2005. Prior to his role at Clara Maass, he worked
as Director of Food and Nutrition at Irvington Hospital; Executive
Chef and Operation’s Manager at Newark Beth Israel Medical
Center; Executive Chef at Christian Healthcare Center; Chef at
Valley Hospital and Executive Chef at Marriot Host and Hotel Division.
Wojtecki graduated from the Culinary Institute of America, where
he completed his externship at Club 101 in New York City.
Professional affiliations include membership in GNJSHFSA, the
Dietary Managers Association and the American Culinary Federation.
In 2001, he received the Sodexho “Rookie of the Year” nomination
and, in 2003, the Sodexho Community Service Award nomination. In
addition to all of his professional accomplishments, Wojtecki actively
volunteers throughout the Borough of Hawthorne. Since 2001, he
has served as a councilman on the Hawthorne Borough Council. A
trained Emergency Medical Technician and firefighter, Wojtecki
is a member of the Hawthorne Volunteer Fire Department.
