Belleville, NJ — According to the
World Health Organization, glaucoma is the second leading cause
of blindness in the world. Glaucoma is an eye disease
associated with increased pressure within the eye which can
damage the optic nerve causing impaired vision and potentially
leading to blindness.
Clara Maass Medical Center eye care experts Anthony Caputo,
MD, and Michael Landolfi, DO, of the Newark Eye & Ear Infirmary
will offer a free glaucoma screening on October
21, 2009, from 8:30 – 11 a.m.
The screening will be held at the
Newark Eye and Ear Infirmary located on the first floor of Clara
Maass Medical Center at One Clara Maass Drive, Belleville, NJ.
There is no cost for this screening. Free parking is available
in the parking deck. To register, please call 1.888.724.7123,
