Certified by the American Board of Surgery,
Dr. Ballem completed his General Surgery
residency in New York City. He completed
his surgical training at the Harlem Hospital
Center at Columbia University, followed by
Fellowship training in Endocrine and Advanced
Laparoscopic Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic
and at the University of Alabama at Birmingham
Medical Center. He also served as a Clinical
Instructor at the Cleveland Clinic's Medical
School. He has extensively researched, published
and presented at both national and international
conferences.
Bariatric Coordinator, , works
with patients and their families from the
moment they walk in the door. Maria supports
patients in preparing for the surgery, during
the procedure and after. Maria is available
at all hours to provide support and answer
questions. From pre-surgical screenings to
post-operative counseling, Maria is there
to help.
