Clara Maass Medical Center has a 26-bed inpatient Pediatric Unit
with a child-friendly atmosphere that treats both acute and general
pediatric conditions. More than 60 attending pediatricians on staff
meet the needs of the pediatric patients and their families.
The Pediatric Unit has a Child Life Specialist and a Playroom
for hospitalized children. The Pediatric Emergency Department and
the Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit provide specialized care.
Coblation for removal of tonsils and adenoids, a gentle and less
painful procedure than traditional methods, is a frequently performed
pediatric surgery at Clara Maass.
Clara Maass has a variety of attending pediatric specialists,
and access to other pediatric specialists is available through
the Saint Barnabas Health Care System depending on the diagnosis.
