TOMS RIVER, NJ, MAY 12, 2009 – Community Medical Center,
in partnership with The Family Resource Network, will present “Pregnant
Pause 2009,” a comprehensive baby fair for expectant and
new moms, dads and grandparents on Thursday, June 11 from 5 – 8
p.m. at the hospital, 99 Highway 37 West in Toms River.
The Baby Fair will feature lectures on having a healthy pregnancy,
healthy babies, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders and more. Special
information on alcohol- and smoke-free pregnancies will be available.
Area organizations will provide information on community services
for families and children. There will be door prizes, free drawings
and refreshments.
Participants may also tour Community’s First Moments Maternity
Services Unit, and meet with the staff from labor, delivery, postpartum
and the nursery.
The Baby Fair is free, but pre-registration is required by calling
1-888-SBHS-123.
Funding for the Baby Fair has been provided by the NJ Coalition
for the Prevention of Developmental Disabilities – The Arc
of NJ; the NJ Office for the Prevention of Mental Retardation & Developmental
Disabilities; and the Ocean County Communities Against Tobacco
(CAT) Coalition.
