TOMS RIVER, NJ, JANUARY 26, 2009 – The
Center for Diabetes Education at Community Medical Center offers
education and support to people of all ages, with diabetes and
to those who care for and about them. Certified Diabetes Educators
provide educational sessions to meet the needs of all of those
with diabetes.
The Center for Diabetes Education is located at 591 Lakehurst
Road in Toms River.
On Monday, February 16, the Center will hold its monthly Diabetes
Support Group at 2 p.m. The topic of discussion will be “What’s
the BEST Glucose Monitor?” Participants will learn what’s
new in blood glucose meter technology, how to choose the right
glucose meter and how to get diabetes supplies reimbursed by insurance.
On Tuesday, February 17 at 7 p.m. the Center will hold its monthly
Insulin Pump Support Group. This month’s topic will be “Keeping
Safe from Dangerous Lows.” Participants will learn to recognize
patterns that lead to blood sugar level lows, how to adjust basal
and bolus rates to avoid lows and how to anticipate the possibility
of a low.
