TOMS RIVER, NJ, January 26, 2009 – Lumbar
Spinal Stenosis (LSS) is a common spinal problem suffered by the
middle-aged and elderly populations, and results from the narrowing
in the lumbar spinal canal that carries nerves to the legs.
The most common cause of LSS is degenerative arthritis, which
commonly occurs in the spine as part of the natural aging process.
Other causes can include tumors, infection and other bone disorders.
Justin Kubeck, MD, an orthopedic surgeon on staff at Community
Medical Center, will present a free lecture, “Treating Lumbar
Spinal Stenosis,” on Wednesday, February 25 at 2:30 p.m.
at Community Medical Center’s Lighthouse, 591 Lakehurst Road.
Dr. Kubeck will present an overview of LSS, including the causes
and symptoms, as well as discuss a minimally invasive procedure,
which takes only 45 to 90 minutes to perform, for the treatment
of LSS.
The program is free, but pre-registration is required by calling
1-888-SBHS-123.
