TOMS RIVER, NJ, August 26, 2009 – Community Medical Center will offer a Pain Awareness Fair on Wednesday, September 16 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the hospital’s Outpatient Lobby, 99 Highway 37 West in Toms River.
Participants will learn what is new in pain management following surgery, how to manage pain following joint replacement surgery, how to manage pain and control side effects including constipation and nausea, and alternative therapies including physical therapy, Reiki and massage.
Information will also be available on the latest medications, technologies and alternative therapies to help patients cope with pain. Health care professionals and anesthesiologists will be available to provide education and information on what can be done to alleviate pain and help individuals manage pain so it does not control them.
The fair is free, and pre-registration is not required.
