The most up-to-date information on breakthrough weight-loss surgery
will be the focus of a Monmouth Medical Center program on Tuesday,
May 19.
Frank J. Borao, M.D., FACS, surgical director of laparoscopic
surgery and The Bariatric Surgery Center at Monmouth, will present
Weight No More: The Most Comprehensive Options in Bariatric Weight
Loss Surgery from 6 to 8 p.m. at Monmouth’s sister hospital,
Community Medical Center in Toms River.
Fellowship trained in advanced laparoscopic surgery, Dr. Borao
will discuss during his free presentation how weight-loss surgery
is giving an increasing number of persons with severe obesity a
new start in life. Joining him will be members of the Bariatric
Surgery Center team including program director Debra LaRusso, R.N.
B.S.N., David M. Goldberg, Ph.D., clinical psychologist, and Samir
Habbiby, M.P.H., registered dietitian.
Performing more bariatric surgical options than any other program
in the region, including roux-en-y gastric bypass, laparoscopic
adjustable gastric banding (lap banding) and restorative obesity
surgery endolumental (ROSE), an incision-free procedure for those
who have experienced post-gastric bypass surgery weight gain, The
