Radiology Services at Community Medical Center

About Us

The Radiology Services DepartmentRadiology uses many types of techniques to produce pictures and images of the inside of the body. These procedures help find the precice location of a problem, such as a broken bone, blocked artery or tumor, and provide a visual image for doctors to plan the most effective care and treatment possible. Radiology procedures performed at Community Medical Center include diagnostic radiography and fluoroscopy, computerized tomography (CT), mammography, nuclear imaging, ultrasound, angiography and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).

Technology: You will find the most advanced, state-of-the-art radiology equipment at our facility which produces the highest quality studies and the ultimate in image resolution. This technology has far reaching applications for numerous disciplines including oncology, cardiology, orthopedics, gastroenterology, neurology and endocrinology.

Dr. Joseph Triolo, Chairman of Radiology, has initiated some of the newest technology available in the Radiology industry. He was instrumental with the transition to digital imaging (PACS) in 2004, an advance that speeds diagnosis and treatment for all patients at our hospital. Dr. Triolo spearheaded the addition of a 3 Tesla MRI, and a 64 Slice CT Scanner in 2006, both of which were the first in Ocean County.

Safety Concerns: Exposure to radiation can be of concern for some people. Any potential risk of radiation exposure should be balanced against the benefits derived from the exposure. Although no adverse health effects have been directly linked to low-dose radiation exposure, Community Medical Center is very concerned about the safety of patients and our board-certified medical physicist supervises an extensive radiation safety program.
