Community Medical Center offers an outpatient parking lot with a daily one time fee of $4.00. As a courtesy, the $4.00 parking fee will be waived for patients returning for the purpose of radiology image release. CMC also offers valet parking for a fee of $5.00. There is also handicap parking available directly across from the outpatient entrance.
Community Medical Center utilizes the services of a “language line” which is available 24 hours a day offering interpretive services for all languages. We also have a foreign language directory of CMC employees who can offer translation services. For the hearing impaired we use special equipment called “deaf talk” which enables the healthcare provider to inform the patient about the procedures they will be having.
The radiology outpatient waiting room provides seating for all radiology departments including; Ultrasound, CT Scan, Nuclear Medicine, X-ray and Angiography. Patients appear to be taken out of order, but you may be waiting for a different test or department. Every effort is made to perform your exam at the scheduled time, but emergencies may arise, in which case we will communicate any delays to you.
The radiology department has doctors in the department daily. The doctors specialize in Radiology and are referred to as Radiologist. All radiology images are interpreted by a radiologist; the results of your procedure are then dictated, typed and faxed to your physician.
Please be prepared with the following information when calling to make an appointment; your full name, date of birth, social security number, address, phone number, type of procedure and doctor who ordered exam, reason for the exam, your insurance carrier, your policy number and authorization number (if available).
Our repeated request for information ensures proper payment from your insurance company and may protect you from being responsible for the bill. We make every effort to assist in verification of insurance and benefits prior to your exam. Taking this step assists you in advance notification of any co payments or services which your insurance company may not cover. Therefore, it is necessary for us to be sure we have the most current information.
The length of time for each test varies; some exams are quick, while other exams require multiple visits to the department. You will be advised if you can expect to spend a long time in the department when making your appointment.
The radiologist will provide the results of your radiology procedure to the physician who ordered the test. The radiologist is working in consultation with your physician. It is important you discuss the results with your physician so you will have a full understanding of the results and the treatment or follow up which may be required.
