ROBOTICS for Thoracic Surgery

Thoracic surgery is the practice of medicine directed toward the surgical treatment of diseases of the chest including cancers of the lung, esophagus, and chest wall; birth defects of the chest; and tumors in the organs contained in the chest cavity.

Complex procedures like thoracic surgery require an excellent view of the operative field and the ability to maneuver instruments within the chest cavity. Thoracic surgery performed robotically provides better control, dexterity and visualization than with an open procedure, allowing surgeons to offer patients the benefits of minimally invasive surgery, including less scarring, pain, blood loss and infection risk, a shorter hospital stay, reduced recovery time and better clinical results.
