Cardiac Catheterization Lab
Performing more than 1,200 cardiac catheterizations each year, Community Medical Center has the only Cardiac Catheterization Lab of its kind in Ocean County. The laboratory is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and patients can be scheduled the same day of the physician's request, minimizing length of stay.
Cardiac Rehabilitation
The Cardiac Rehabilitation outpatient program combines the latest concepts of cardiovascular rehabilitation, optimizing the patient’s physical, mental, and social abilities. The Cardiac Rehabilitation Program has three phases.
Phase I occurs while a patient is still in the hospital recovering from a coronary event. The rehab in the early days is more educational then physical. During Phase II, patients learn how to live with the heart ailment. The emphasis is on conditioning the heart by strengthening it through exercise. Patients participate in a comprehensive 12-week exercise and rehabilitation program under the direct supervision of an interdisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, and dieticians. Phase III is the maintenance portion of the program. Graduates of the Phase II program may elect to participate in a self monitored, maintenance program.
