RTOG 0822: A Phase II Evaluation of Preoperative Chemoradiotherapy
Utilizing Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT) in Combination
with Capecitabine and Oxaliplatin for Patients with Locally Advanced
Rectal Cancer
The primary objective of this study is to determine whether the
incidence of acute (preoperative) grade 2-5 gastrointestinal toxicity
associated with preoperative chemotherapy is reduced by inverse-planned
IMRT-based radiation treatment when compared to conventionally
delivered radiation treatment.

Adenocarcinoma of the rectum up to 12 cm from the anal verge
Stage:
Any T3 or 4, N0 - 2, M0 |

Prior invasive cancer < 3 years ago
