Community Medical Center Temporary Visiting Hours

VISITING RESTRICTIONS DURING H1N1 OUTBREAK

No visitors under 18. No one under the age of 18 is allowed in the hospital unless they are a patient or unless other circumstances as defined below under special considerations.

No sick visitors - If you have a fever, cough, sore throat, fatigue, nausea, vomiting or diarrhea, you will not be permitted to visit.

Special Considerations: Hospice or terminally ill patient who is not expected to be discharged from the hospital.

1W, 2A, 2C, 2D, 3A, 3B, 3C, 3E, 3F, 4A, 4E, 4F
11 am - 8 pm

Surgical Step Down/ICU/CCU
2B, 2E, 2F

11 am - 1 pm
3 - 4 pm
8:30 - 10 pm
Immediate family only

Oncology
Family: 24 hour visitation

Transitional Care Unit
8 am - 8 pm

Labor & Delivery
Three designated support persons: 24 hour visitation

Maternity Unit, 5E, 5F
Noon - 8 pm
One person may stay overnight at the patient’s request.

Pediatrics, 5C
Parents: 24 hour visitation
One parent may stay overnight.
Grandparents and family members: 11 am - 8pm

Van Dyke Hospice & Palliative Care Unit
24 hour visitation; Unlimited visitors

Exceptions to Visiting Hours
(These exceptions do not supersede the H1N1 restrictions)

  • The day of surgery, special purpose unit or cardiac catheterization patients
  • Specific Physician Order (A Direct Order by the physician to the floor, forwarded to the Information Desk)
  • Formal caregivers
  • Relatives, when death is imminent, at the discretion of the nurse.
  • Patient Belongings: If a family member is bringing items for a patient, the items will be placed in a “patient belongings” bag, marked as such with name and room number, and delivered to the room.
  • Day of admission with the nurse’s approval.
