Meet the Judges - LPN of the Year

YVONNE HEYRICH,LPN
Staff Development/Employee Health Coordinator, Wound Team Coordinator, Bridgeway Care Center, Bridgewater,NJ.
Y HeyrichAn ADVANCE editorial advisory board member, Heyrich has been a coordinator at Bridgeway Care Center for the past 3 years. She's presently pursuing her RN degree at Raritan Valley Community COllege, North Branch, NJ. In June, she will attend a week-long seminar at the Wound Care Education Institute to become board certified through the National Alliance of Wound care. Heyrich is a Budd Lake resident, and is married with tow children.

Nurse, St. Joseph's Wayne Hospital.
B. MatosA staff nurse at St. Joseph's Wayne (NJ) Hospital for 21/2 years, this former licensed practical nurse was the 2004 recipient of the ADVANCE LPN of the year award. Matos is an OR nurse at St. Joseph's, where he's served on the facility's nursing practice council and as preceptor for the new staff. He lives in Palisades Park, NJ, with his wife and three daughters.

JOANNA SCALABRINI, MSN,MHED, RN, C
Dean, Dorothea Hopfer School of Nursing

J Scalabini Scalabrini is an original member of the ADVANCE for LPNs editorial advisory board and has been a nurse educator for more than 30 years. She is currently dean of the Dorothea Hopfer School of Nursing at the Mount Vernon Hospital. Scalabrini was formerly the PN curriculum chairperson at Weschester Community College, Valhalla, NY, and served as chairperson of the New York State Council of PN Programs and the New York State LPN to RN Articulation Model's Web site.
