How to Support Us Since no patient is denied care for inability to pay, donations, contributions and fundraisers are vitally important to Saint Barnabas Hospice and Palliative Care Center's and Van Dyke Hospice's ability to meet the needs of our patients and families. Payments received from Medicare and Medicaid hospice benefits often do not cover all costs. Donations are needed to provide care for those who are under insured and are not insured at all. It is the thoughtfulness and generosity of supporters that allow us to continue our special kind of caring. In addition to outright cash, gifts of securities, real estate, gifts-in-kind, and planned gifts are appreciated. These contributions may also result in tax savings that go beyond the traditional straight tax deduction for outright giving. Gifts may be made in memory of a loved one or friend or to commemorate a special occasion.
The Annual Giving Campaign is an opportunity to donate to the Saint Barnabas Hospice and Palliative Care Center and Van Dyke Hospice to provide sustained, ongoing support for the mission of Hospice. The gifts from the Annual Giving Campaign provide significant support for our services and enable us to enhance the quality of life for each patient and to support the family throughout their bereavement. Donors, whose gifts to the Saint Barnabas Hospice and Palliative Care
Center reach $1,000 (including those that total this amount when combined
with other gifts in memory or honor of an individual) become members
of our Hospice Circle. Their name is inscribed on our
Hospice Circle plaque. Make a Donation. (This opens a PDF contribution form which can be printed out and mailed or faxed. See end of this message for form.)
The Hospice Donor's Circle is a donor club that recognizes the people who believe in the mission of the Saint Barnabas Hospice and Palliative Care Center. Hospice Circle members contribute $1,000 or more in a given year. These contributions may be gifts of cash, stock, real estate, bequests, charitable gift annuities, charitable trust, and life insurance. In addition to benefiting Hospice, these gifts often reduce tax liability and/or increase income for the donor. The amount of a bequest or trust is entirely your choice and is kept strictly confidential. Members of the Hospice Circle are invited to special programs, which offer an inside look at the Saint Barnabas Hospice and Palliative Care Center and the Saint Barnabas Health Care System. The names of Hospice Donor's Circle members are listed, with their permission, in the Annual Gift Report and on the Hospice Circle donor plaque.
The Planned Giving Program at the Saint Barnabas Hospice and Palliative Care Center and Van Dyke Hospice offers additional ways to honor a special friend or family member or provide a lasting contribution to the work of hospice. Gifts can be made through -
