Kimball Medical Center Foundation Appoints Physicians to Board

LAKEWOOD, NJ, FEBRUARY 15, 2008 —The Kimball Medical Center Foundation is pleased to welcome Robert Cranley, M.D., and Jarrod Kaufman, M.D., to its board of trustees. The Board oversees Kimball Medical Center’s fundraising and development efforts; it furthers the expansion of hospital services, the development of new programs, and helps to bring leading edge technology and exceptional medical care to the people of Ocean and Monmouth counties. Both men were appointed to the board in January 2008.

"The Board is pleased to welcome these two dedicated physicians who bring a vast array of knowledge and commitment to this important volunteer Board," said David Sickel, Chairman, Kimball Medical Center Foundation Board.

Robert Cranley, M.D.Robert Cranley, M.D., received his medical degree from Boston University. He completed a diagnostic radiology residency at Duke University Medical Center, where he also was fellowship trained in vascular/interventional radiology. He joined Ocean Radiology Associates at Kimball Medical Center in 2003 and is currently the chairman of the hospital’s Radiology Department. Dr. Cranley holds board certification from the American College of Radiology with added qualification in vascular and interventional radiology. He is an active member in the American College of Radiology, the Society of Interventional Radiology and the Radiological Society of North America. Dr. Cranley is a well respected member of the medical staff at Kimball Medical Center. He resides in Brielle.

Jarrod Kaufman, M.D.Jarrod Kaufman, M.D., received his medical degree from the Sackler School of Medicine, in Tel Aviv, Israel. He completed his internship and residency in general surgery at Lankenau Hospital in Wynnewood, Pennsylvania, where he also served as Chief Surgical Resident. Dr. Kaufman joined Lakewood Surgical Group in 2004. He holds board certification from the American College of Surgeons. In addition to general surgery, Dr. Kaufman specializes in laparoscopic and vascular surgery. He is a highly respected surgeon, a published author and lecturer among both his colleagues and the community at large. Dr. Kaufman serves on numerous committees throughout Kimball Medical Center, including as the hospital’s American Cancer Society Cancer Liaison Physician. He is a member of the NJ Medical Society, the American Cancer Society, the NJ Vascular Society and the American Society of General Surgeons to name a few. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Kaufman resides in Toms River.

"Both of these men are strong advocates for Kimball Medical Center, it services, patients and staff,” added Sickel. “Their experience and firsthand knowledge of Kimball Medical Center will greatly enhance the focus of our fundraising and development efforts, and we are proud to have them join our Foundation Board.”
