Kimball Medical Center Appoints New Foundation Board Members

Lakewood, NJ ---  Kimball Medical Center Foundation recently appointed several new members to its Board of Trustees including Thomas Calabro of Jackson; Bruce Himelman of Toms River; Frances Kirschner of Lakewood; Robert C. Novy, Esq. of Brick Township; and Tamerlan Zorojew of Toms River.

The Foundation Board oversees Kimball Medical Center’s fundraising and development efforts; it furthers the expansion of hospital services, the development of new programs, and helps to bring leading edge technology and exceptional medical care to the people of Ocean and Monmouth counties.  Over the years, the Kimball Medical Center Foundation has funded many important projects which have helped thousands of patients – from the tiniest newborns to the region’s most senior residents. 

"The Board is pleased to welcome such strong community leaders, who will each bring a unique array of knowledge and experience to this important volunteer Board," said David Sickel, Chairman, Kimball Medical Center Foundation Board.  “We are looking forward to working with each of our new members of the Board in our fundraising and development efforts in 2009,” said Sickel. 

Thomas Calabro, a lifelong resident of Jackson, owns and operates several jewelry stores throughout Ocean County including Twin City Jewelers, American Gold Jewelers and Gemco Gold Buyers.  He graduated from Jackson High School and earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Georgian Court University.  Thomas Calabro is also an elected member of the Ocean County Committee.  He is married with two children.

Bruce Himelman, a resident of Toms River, has been a Wealth Management Advisor for Northwestern Mutual Financial Network for 27 years.  He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Indiana University and a Master of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Illinois.  Bruce Himelman is married and has two children.

Frances Kirshner, a Lakewood resident, is the President of Frantasy Enterprises, a corporate public relations firm.  Frances Kirschner received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Montclair University in Classical Latin and English; and a masters' degree in Human Development from Fairleigh Dickinson University and another in Administration and Supervision from Jersey City State College.  Currently she is a member of the Board of Directors for the Lakewood Chamber of Commerce, is the President of the Corporate Resource Alliance and is on the Board of Trustees for the Family Planning Center of Ocean County.  She and her husband, Robert, have two children and four grandchildren.

Robert C. Novy, Esq., is a resident of Brick Township.  Robert Novy is a graduate of St. Peter’s College, Jersey City; Franklin Pierce Law Center, Concord, New Hampshire; and Northwestern University, Kellogg School of Management, Evanston, Illinois.  Novy has been practicing law in the state of NJ since 1976 and is admitted to practice before the Federal District Court of the State of NJ and the United States Supreme Court.  He is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the Ocean County, New Jersey and American Bar Associations, the American Cancer Society’s Business and Industry Council.  He owns and operates his own firm, Novy & Associates in Manchester, and has an office in Monmouth County also.  Novy is currently the host of a radio show on WOBM-AM called, “Inside the Law,” and is a frequent lecturer for various professional and civic organizations.  Robert Novy is married and has five children.

Tamerlan Zorojew, a resident of Toms River, is the President of Riverland, LLC, a real estate management company based in Toms River.  Tamerlan Zorojew earned his Bachelor of Arts degree at Marshall University.  He and his wife Kathy have 3 children and are active with a number of civic organizations throughout Ocean County, including the Toms River Improvement District.

Each of the new Foundation Board Members have been appointed for a 3-year term.
