LAKEWOOD, NJ – Kimball Medical Center Foundation’s
annual gala, themed, “Murder on the Orient Express,” will
be held on Saturday, May 9, 2009 from 6 to 10 p.m. at Woodlake
County Club in Lakewood. This year, four area residents will be
honored as outstanding humanitarians who provide extraordinary
leadership to Kimball Medical Center.
Jackson Township resident Nina Anuario, Senior Vice President
from OceanFirst Bank; Lakewood resident and Kimball Foundation
Board Member Fran Kirschner of Frantasy Enterprises; Lakewood resident
and Lakewood Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Maureen Stankowitz;
and Kimball Emergency Department Medical Director William Dalsey,
MD, and the staff of the Emergency Medical Associates, will be
honored as this year’s humanitarian award recipients.
Nina Anuario, of Jackson Township, is Senior Vice President of
Business Development at OceanFirst Bank. A highly esteemed
resident of her community, Nina Anuario is being recognized for
her outstanding achievements in her career and her unequaled history
of community leadership, both of which exemplify the true meaning
of dedicated public service.
Anuario is an untiring advocate of improving the quality of life
in Ocean County. She currently serves as President of the
Board of the Ocean County Vocational Technical School Board of
Education, is an active member of the Ocean County College Foundation
Board of Trustees, and is a member of the advisory board
of the Jersey Shore Council Boy Scouts. She is past president
of the Ocean County Bankers Association and the Toms River Ocean
County Chamber of Commerce. Anuario continues to serve on the Chambers
Board of Directors and is co-chair of the annual golf committee
and chairs the budget committee. She is also past chair of the
Workforce Investment Board of Ocean County and is a current member
of the PIC Board. Nina Anuario has given generously of her
time, energy and resources to Ocean County.
Frances Kirschner is currently the President of Frantasy Enterprises,
a public relations firm. Kirschner is an active member of
the Board of Directors for the Lakewood Chamber of Commerce; is
the President of the Corporate Resource Alliance; and is on the
Board of Trustees for the Family Planning Center of Ocean County. She
is also an active member of the Kimball Medical Center Foundation
Board of Trustees. Frances Kirschner is a highly respected
woman who has dedicated her life to promoting people and businesses
throughout the community.
Maureen Stankowitz is the Executive Director of the Lakewood Chamber
of Commerce, and has been a lifelong advocate for both the Chamber
and the Township of Lakewood. Stankowitz serves on the Executive
Board of Directors of Preferred Behavioral Health and sits on the
Executive Board of the National Council for Community Behavioral
Health Board. She is an active member of the Jersey Shore
Council Boy Scouts, a lifetime member of the Girl Scouts of the
Jersey Shore, and is also a member of the Monmouth Ocean Development
Council. Maureen Stankowitz is an active community leader
who embraces the philosophy of service in all aspects of her life.
“These are all outstanding women who have dedicated their
lives to their communities and to civic work,” said Caryl
Russo, Vice President of the Kimball Medical Center Foundation. “They
each possess a strong business sense and promote good health and
well-being in every facet of their lives. We are honored to pay
tribute to each of these remarkable women for their selfless and
unwavering devotion to Kimball and to the residents in their communities.”
William C. Dalsey, MD, FACEP, Chairman of the Department of Emergency
Medicine at Kimball Medical Center, along with the EMA staff, is
also being honored with a Humanitarian Award. Dr. Dalsey
has worked in the Emergency Department at Kimball for over six
years. He also serves as Vice President of Quality and Patient
Safety for Emergency Medical Associates; he has developed emergency
medicine residencies at the Joint Military Medical Command and
Albert Einstein Medical Center; developed several basic and clinical
research programs; and founded the Ohio Young Physicians Section
of the American Medical Association and has served as its president.
“Dr. Dalsey is a dedicated, compassionate and highly skilled
physician who has been instrumental in easing pain and saving countless
lives here at Kimball Medical Center,” says Russo. “He
is the recipient of our coveted Caring For and About People
Award and truly embodies what it means to be a 'Humanitarian.'”

addition, the Foundation is currently seeking sponsors and auction
donations.
The Kimball Medical Center Foundation was created to support Kimball
Medical Center and the programs and services it provides. The
Foundation’s accomplishments are funded through contributions
from individuals, corporations, and other donors for state of the
art equipment, facility improvement and programs. The Foundation
enjoys the support of thousands of friends, especially the members
of the Kimball Medical Center Auxiliary Association, whom not only
raise funds for the hospital, but also serve as “ambassadors” in
the community.
