Kimball Radiologists Use Diagnostic Images To Save Lives

Lakewood, NJ - Diagnostic imaging makes it possible to detect many sources of life-threatening illnesses and diseases such as cancerous tumors and blood clots.  State-of-the-art testing is necessary to see inside the human body, but it takes highly-skilled physicians to read and interpret such tests.

The radiologists and interventional radiologists on staff at Kimball Medical Center are each highly skilled in specific areas of specialty.  They each possess the experience and skills necessary to detect and identify disease at it earliest stages utilizing an advanced array of imaging equipment. 

According the Robert Cranley, MD, Medical Director of Radiology at Kimball, the radiologists are highly experienced and perform over 90,000 imaging studies annually.  “All our radiologists are all board-certified by the American Board of Radiology, are fellowship-trained, and offer expertise in a wide range of areas,” he says.  “Each one is highly specialized in areas such as neuroradiology, musculoskeletal, vascular, body imaging and general radiology.” 

Dr. Cranley, an interventional radiologist, specializes in vascular imaging.  Dr. Cranley received his Doctorate in Medicine from Boston University, completed his residency and a fellowship in Vascular/Interventional radiology at Duke University. 

Lev Pukin, MD, is also a vascular and interventional radiologist.  Dr. Pukin received his medical degree from Ross University and completed his internship and residency at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital.  He also completed a fellowship in Vascular and Interventional radiology at Mt. Sinai Medical Center, where he was an Assistant Professor. 

Alex Langman, MD, is a whole body imaging specialist.  He earned his medical degree from the State University of New York Health Science Center at Brooklyn College of Medicine.  He went on to complete an internship in Internal Medicine at Staten Island University Hospital and then completed his residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Albert Einstein/Montefiore Medical Center.  He also completed a fellowship in MRI/CT/Ultrasound at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.

Albert Ybasco, MD, is the musculoskeletal specialist.  He earned is medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.  Dr. Ybasco completed an internship at New York Hospital-Medical Center and completed his residency in Diagnostic Radiology at UMDNJ.  He also completed a fellowship in Musculoskeletal Radiology at the University of Michigan Hospital.

There are two Neuroradiology specialists at Kimball, William Weiguang Qiu, MD, MA and Bharat Patel, MD.  Dr. Qiu received his medical degree from China Medical University.  He completed a residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Monmouth Medical Center, where he was Chief Resident.  He then completed a fellowship in Neuroradiology at New York Presbyterian Hospital, Cornell University.  Dr. Patel received his medical degree at SUNY Health Science Center at Syracuse College of Medicine.  He completed a medical internship at Medical College of Pennsylvania and a residency in Diagnostic Radiology at UMDNJ, where he was Chief Resident.  Dr. Patel completed a fellowship in Neuroradiology at Beth Israel Medical Center. 

The radiologists utilize a full array of state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging services at Kimball which includes:

  • Diagnostic X-Ray
  • Computed Tomography Scans
  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
  • PET/CT Scans (Positron Emission Tomography and Computed Tomography combined)
  • Ultrasound
  • Nuclear Medicine
  • Interventional Radiology
  • Bone Density Testing

Kimball Medical Center’s Radiology Department is conveniently located on the Ground Floor of the hospital with easy access and plenty of parking. The radiologists at Kimball are highly experienced and perform over 90,000 imaging studies annually.  All radiologists are board-certified by the American Board of Radiology, are fellowship-trained, and are highly specialized in areas including neuroradiology, musculoskeletal, vascular, body imaging, and general radiology.

Radiology appointments can be made by simply calling the Radiology scheduling access line at 1-888-SBHS-123 (1-888-724-7123) and pressing option #2.
