Children’s Crisis Intervention Services (CCIS) at Monmouth Medical Center is a 19-bed, acute inpatient unit for children and adolescents age 5 to 17 residing in Monmouth and Ocean counties who have been screened for psychiatric admission through our Psychiatric Emergency Screening Services (PESS).
The goal of CCIS is to stabilize the patient within a short period of time and develop a discharge plan for a successful transition to community-based services.

Our Team
Our team of professionals include a psychiatrist, psychiatric nurse, licensed social worker, psycho-pharmacologist, adjunctive therapist, education coordinator, mental health associates and a discharge planner.
Our Regional Response Coordinator creates, maintains and coordinates relationships with local and state children based services so that our children and adolescents continue to have access to the appropriate level of care. The Coordinator is also available to provide ongoing education to families post-hospitalization.
Our Child and Family clinicians located in Psychiatric Emergency Screening Services (PESS) provide the onsite and mobile outreach emergency screening necessary for CCIS hospitalization. Crisis intervention and service coordination for families residing in Monmouth County is also provided.

- Mood Disorder: including Major Depressive disorder, Bi-Polar Disorder
- Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
- Conduct Disorder
- Oppositional Defiant Disorder
