Long Branch, N.J.--Dahlia Hall, MD, MPH, FAAP, pediatrician and Director of the Newborn Nursery at The Children’s Hospital at Monmouth Medical Center, was honored with a community achievement award by the African American Achievement Committee at a dinner held on November 16, 2007.
“We at The Children’s Hospital at Monmouth are proud of Dr. Hall for her many achievements and celebrate this honor along with her friends and family and the many young patients whose lives she has touched,” says Margaret Fisher, M.D., FAAP, Chair of the Department of Pediatrics at The Children’s Hospital at Monmouth Medical Center.
 In 1999 a group of Long Branch residents organized the African American Achievement Committee under the umbrella of the Long Branch Community Action Board. Each year the group honors models of excellence within the community and salutes them for their service to others.
Board certified in pediatrics, Dr. Hall received her undergraduate degree from Tufts University, Jackson College in Medford, Massachusetts, her Masters Degree in Public Health - Epidemiology from Columbia University School of Public Health in New York and medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Hall completed her residency in pediatrics at NYU Medical Center, NYU School of Medicine in New York and was chief pediatric resident at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York; an NYU Medical Center affiliate. Dr. Hall is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Drexel University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dr Hall is also a Certified Asthma Educator, who has a special interest in educating and caring for our patients with asthma.
Dr. Hall is also the Director of the Reach Out and Read program, a service that provides developmentally appropriate books to low income children between the ages of six months and five years at their well child check ups at Monmouth Family Health Center.
