LONG BRANCH, NJ, August 6, 2009 – The Children's Hospital at Monmouth Medical Center is hosting its 3rd Annual Big Steps for Little Feet fundraising walk on Sunday, September 13 at Beach Front North in Long Branch. The walk is to benefit an expansion of the H. and A. Hovnanian Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Monmouth Medical Center.
Registration begins at 10 a.m. and the Big Steps for Little Feet Walk begins at 11 a.m.
In addition to the walk, there will be a DJ, an appearance by Buster from the Lakewood BlueClaws, Ronald McDonald and other special guests.
The event, which celebrates the very special graduates of Monmouth Medical Center’s renowned Regional Newborn Center, draws more than 400 walkers annually. Last year's event raised more than $50,000 for the Regional Newborn Center.
The Regional Newborn Center at Monmouth Medical Center – comprising the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and the Special Care Nursery – is uniquely equipped to meet the needs of infants born too early or too small, or who require special care or surgery.
There are many ways to participate in the Big Steps for Little Feet walk. Participants who register can collect pledges and donations from family and friends; sponsorship opportunities are available and donations from anyone who cannot attend are gratefully accepted by the Monmouth Medical Center Foundation. Awards will also be given.
This is a rain or shine event. In the event of inclement weather, the location will be moved to the Ocean Place Resort and Spa.
