Shore Occupational Medicine
.

LONG BRANCH, NJ, MAY 11, 2005 – Monmouth Medical Center, an affiliate of the Saint Barnabas Health Care System, recently celebrated the grand opening of Shore Occupational Medicine with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by local business leaders, community members and government officials.

The ribbon-cutting took place on Thursday, April 21 at Monmouth Medical Center. Frank J. Vozos, MD, executive director of Monmouth Medical Center, welcomed approximately 100 guests and dignitaries and praised the collaboration between the hospital and Shore Occupational Medicine.

“Shore Occupational Medicine is dedicated to providing a full line of health services to business, industry and government agencies to maintain the health and wellness of their employees,” Dr. Vozos said. “Monmouth Medical Center is proud to work in collaboration with this organization to help manage, control and reduce workers compensation and other related health costs within a quality health care delivery system.”

The principal role of Shore Occupational Medicine is the provision of health advice and services to its clients to ensure the highest standards of health and safety at work can be achieved and maintained. They provide job-specific physical examinations, routine screenings, x-rays, EKGs, laboratory and blood work including drug and alcohol testing, and treatment and case management of work-related injuries, to name a few, to businesses throughout the region.

Shore Occupational Medicine also works with clients to control expenditures through a variety of measures including risk analysis, injury and incident prevention, aggressive safety programs and OSHA compliance.

In addition, Shore Occupational Medicine provides an efficient system for the care of work related injuries and illnesses. Employees of contracted companies receive priority treatment at the center, located conveniently off the main lobby and near the Emergency Department of Monmouth Medical Center. Patients who need to be seen due to a workplace injury or illness after hours are treated at Monmouth Medical Center’s Emergency Department, allowing for 24-hour-per day, seven-day-a-week care.

Mark Sisskin, MD, board-certified in internal medicine, is the medical director of Shore Occupational Medicine. He is joined by treating physician, Thomas Armbruster, MD, board-certified in family practice.

Dr. Sisskin said, “Using Shore Occupational Medicine to provide care for your employees is very much like having an employee health department within your own company, but without the overhead and administrative costs involved. This assures quality medical care is provided at all times to employees in a cost-effective manner.”

During the ribbon-cutting event, Long Branch Mayor Adam Schneider thanked the hospital for developing this valuable collaboration for the businesses and residents of the community. He also presented a proclamation celebrating the grand opening of Shore Occupational Medicine on behalf of New Jersey State Assembly by Assemblyman Steve Corodemus (R), District 11, who was unable to attend.

Dr. Vozos said, “Monmouth Medical Center is a leader in providing quality-driven, efficient and responsive health care services which meet the needs and exceed the expectations of the community we serve. Our collaboration with Shore Occupational Health is just one more example of how Monmouth Medical Center maintains this leadership role as it continues to find new ways to deliver the highest quality care.”
