Two Rivers Garden Tour Auction Features One-of-a-Kind Ostrich Egg Purse

LONG BRANCH, NJ, April 24, 2009 – In conjunction with the 2009 Two Rivers Garden Tour, a 15th Anniversary Celebration cocktail party and auction on Friday, May 29, will feature an exclusive raffle of a one-of-a-kind Faberge-style purse.

The ostrich egg purse was made specifically for the Two Rivers Garden Tour on its 15th Anniversary.

“Although it is made from a genuine ostrich egg, the purse is coated with a transparent resin that makes it virtually unbreakable,” say event chairs Ana Blank and Jackie Minniear. “Artist Mitzi Perdue, wife of the late Frank Perdue, has made EveningEggs for many of the rich and famous, including the Queen of Spain, Empress Michiko, the Queen of Thailand, and the wife of the Mayor of Saint Petersburg, and we are thrilled to be able to offer such an exclusive prize at our auction.”

Raffle tickets for the purse are $50, and only 400 tickets will be sold. Winner need not be present.

The Two Rivers Garden Tour, a three-day event featuring a tour of six beautiful and rarely viewed gardens, will be held on Saturday, May 30, and Sunday, May 31. The cocktail party, which will honor Rumson residents Michael and Diane Gooch, whose West River Road estate will be featured on the 2009 tour, will be held at the home of Marshall and Janice Knopf of Red Bank.
