The medical director of our specialty clinic is Dr. Margaret Eng.
She is a fellowship trained infectious disease physician in practice
over twenty years. Dr. Eng treats the whole spectrum of infectious
diseases but has a special interest in HIV care. She was practicing
medicine in NYC during the early eighties when the initial cases
were diagnosed reported. At that time little was known about the
illness and it was shrouded in shame and secrecy. The only available
drug was AZT and even that could not prevent the mortality. Dr.
Eng has seen great advances in care in HIV care and keeps abreast
of all new researches.
Our nurse case coordinator is nationally certified in AIDS care
and has many years experience in this field. She is available five
days a week for patient visits, treatment, adherence and counseling,
symptom management, and moral support.
Our social worker/case manager is a highly trained family therapist
with special expertise in substance abuse. She can offer individual
and family counseling, referrals for housing and financial assistance.
Many resources and benefits are available to people living with
HIV and she has extensive experience in accessing these programs.
Additionally we have a registered dietician who does individual
assessments of nutritional needs and counsels regarding weight management,
diabetes, and high cholesterol.
Our clinic secretary is courteous and accessible. She arranges
the follow up appointments, schedules special tests and is the first
person you come in contact with. We believe in returning calls promptly
and responding to patient concerns. We maintain absolute confidentiality
and will respect your wishes in regards to receiving telephone calls
or mail.
Where ever a person chooses to go for medical care they need to
feel confident in the staff and valued as an individual. Dr. Eng
and her staff strive to make their patients experience as comfortable
and stress free as possible.
We are located in downtown Long Branch at 270 Broadway. Clinic hours
are every Monday and Wednesday from 9am-12pm and Fridays 11am-3pm.
In addition, we have one Monday evening per month from 5pm-7pm.
We accept all types of insurance including Medicaid and Medicare.
The state of NJ Dept of Health funds us to provide care for those
without insurance.
