Orthopaedic Services

The surrounding community's growing population has triggered a greater demand for orthopaedic care and services in recent years.

As a result, Monmouth has dedicated an entire floor to orthopaedics, housing a technologically advanced operating suite, 32-bed unit and physical therapy room.

Services include:

  • The treatment of:
    • Spine trauma and spinal cord injuries
    • Spinal surgery of the cervical and lumbar areas
    • Reconstructive surgery and microsurgery.

  • The latest in arthroscopic surgery of the knee, ankle and shoulder is performed as part of the hospital's sports medicine program.

  • Specialized orthopaedic services for people with scoliosis, muscular dystrophy, spina bifida, neurological disorders and cerebral palsy.

Staff

Members of its highly respected attending staff are fellowship trained in a number of subspecialties, including pediatric orthopaedics, hand, spine and total joint replacement.

A leading Monmouth orthopaedic surgeon was the first in New Jersey to perform laser-assisted spinal endoscopy to treat disk problems.

Arthroscopic surgery has opened orthopaedic surgery to an entire spectrum of less-invasive surgical procedures.
