To those reminiscing about growing up in greater Newark years ago, remembering The Beth as one’s birthplace is to acknowledge both its extraordinary tradition of medical achievements and its pivotal role in the community as a sheltering beacon of warmth, healing and social service.
To those born more recently, beginning life at The Beth is a shining
example of the dedicated pledge of the founding Jewish community to care for all those in need including individuals of every race, creed and background. (more)
The Newark Beth Israel Medical Center Born at The Beth Wall of Recognition is a new display that offers a way to celebrate a birth at The Beth, honor those who were born here in the past, and add to Newark Beth Israel’s unfolding recorded history. Every name that is permanently inscribed on this special wall recognizes each family’s financial support of the Medical Center and all proceeds will benefit and enhance our superior medical services.

The names will be permanently imprinted on a special honor roll. The plaque will be updated annually and families will receive an announcement when their names have been added, inviting them to view the Wall of Recognition.

As part of its Centennial Celebrations, Newark Beth Israel Medical Center dedicated its Wall of History — an artistic presentation of the history of both Newark and The Beth. The Wall of History includes the Born at The Beth Founding Members and is located on the 2nd floor Osborne Terrace Bridge. The new Born at The Beth Wall of Recognition will be placed in the same hallway, adjacent to the Wall of History.

Simply fill out the form, which can be downloaded on this site — for each name on the Wall of Recognition, there is a one-time gift to The Beth of $100 or $50.
