Dr. James Saidi grew up in San Antonio, Texas where he
attended the preeminent Keystone School. He then studied
at Cornell University, and graduated in 1990 with a degree
in biochemistry. He graduated from the prestigious University
of Texas – Southwestern Medical School in Dallas,
Texas, and was awarded a Southwestern Research Fellowship.
He returned to New York to complete 2 years of general
surgery residency training followed by four years of urology
training at the world renowned Columbia University Medical
Center / New York Presbyterian Hospital.
At
Columbia, Dr. Saidi received extensive training in cancer
surgery and minimally invasive techniques. He authored
or co-authored numerous research publications in the urologic
literature in the topics of prostate cancer surgery outcomes,
infertility, and urinary incontinence. He was also named
a “Pfizer Scholar in Urology.”
In
July 2000, Dr. Saidi joined the respected Montclair Urological
Group, and has developed an active practice in general
urology with special expertise in urologic cancers, robotic
assisted surgery and other minimally invasive treatments
such as radiofrequency ablation, as well as prosthetic
surgery and pelvic floor reconstruction. He established
the Prostate and Urologic Cancer Program at Mountainside
Hospital in Montclair, NJ where he is also the Associate
Director of the Department of Urology.
Dr.
Saidi is board certified by the American Board of Urology,
and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He
is a member of numerous county, state, and national medical
societies. In 2006, he was named a “Top Doc” by
New Jersey Monthly magazine, as voted by his medical colleagues,
one of only 8 urologists in the state to be honored. Dr.
Saidi teaches urology to primary care physician residents,
and is involved in the robotic surgery training of physicians
who come from around the country to the Newark Beth Israel
Medical Center robotic surgery training facility.
