Antonia Pinney, MD, Appointed to Medical Staff at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center

NEWARK, NJ -- Antonia Ferrari Pinney, MD, of Montclair has joined the Medical Staff at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center. A board certified obstetrician/gynecologist, Dr. Pinney joins Newark Beth Israel from Stony Brook University Hospital in Stony Brook, NY, where she was an attending physician and served as Assistant Professor in the Department of OB/GYN.

Dr. Pinney is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. She received her BA degree in biology from Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, PA, and her MD degree from MCP/Hahnemann School of Medicine in Philadelphia, PA. She completed her residency in OB/GYN at SUNY Stony Brook and the Galloway Fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York.

Newark Beth Israel Medical Center is a 671-bed regional referral teaching hospital that is an affiliate of the Saint Barnabas Health Care System. The medical center's maternal/child health team includes board-certified obstetricians, anesthesiologists, perinatologists, neonatologists, general pediatricians and pediatric specialists, OB/GYN residents, midwives, nurses and support staff, all available 24 hours a day. A leader in the diagnosis and management of high-risk pregnancies, Newark Beth Israel is designated as a Regional Perinatal Center and is a referral site for 30 hospitals for mothers and babies at risk. It is also the site of a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit that treats 700 critically ill newborns annually and is the only hospital in NJ to offer extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) for newborns with severe respiratory failure.
