Press Releases - 2006 HILLSIDE RESIDENT MARCIA MCGREGOR, RNC, BSN, RECOGNZIED FOR EXCELLENCE IN NURSING LEADERSHIP NEWARK, NJ -- Marcia McGregor, RNC, BSN, director of Patient Care Services on the Telemetry Unit at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center (NBIMC), an affiliate of the Saint Barnabas Health Care System, was awarded the 2005 Nurse Leader award by the Organization of Nurse Executives of New Jersey (ONE/NJ). The Hillside resident was among a select group of nurses throughout the state who were recognized for outstanding leadership in nursing by the ONE/NJ at their annual holiday event. McGregor, a native of Jamaica, West Indies has been a member of the nursing team at Newark Beth Israel since 1990. Prior to joining the staff at NBIMC, she provided critical care to patients in Jamaica. At Newark Beth Israel, McGregor has demonstrated extraordinary leadership skills, guiding her team through various achievements including an award for the 2004 Advance Best Nurse Team in the category of Adaptability; 100 percent compliance with the PRONJ indicators for congestive heart failure (CHF) and acute myocardial infarction (AMI), and the Core Value Award which is the highest honor awarded at the Newark Beth Israel. In addition, McGregor has been the recipient of the medical center's Employee of the Month Award. More than once, she was bestowed the Humanism and Healthcare Award. McGregor's was recognized by ONE/NJ for her strong commitment to patient care, exceptional nursing leadership and her commitment to mentoring others.
