as a safe environment for purposeful wandering where
residents can sit, enjoy and relax. The garden includes
scented and colorful flowers, habitats for birds and
a vegetable garden.
- A personalized shadow box outside
each resident's room reflects individual interests and
experiences
- Recreation programs tailored to
meet the needs of those diagnosed with dementia. Activities
focus on helping residents retain skills, reduce confusion,
maximize independence, and relieve anxiety

Residents on The
Front PorchSM benefit from staff specially trained in managing and caring
for residents with dementia. The health care team is comprised
of recreation therapists, social workers, dieticians,
nurses and experts in the fields of neuropsychology, geriatric
psychology and gerontology. This interdisciplinary care
team conducts neurobehavioral rounds to ensure that residents
achieve their full potential. |
