The Network offers after-school programs for those who can continue regular school activities but who require intensive supports to address substance abuse and behavioral issues. Programs are offered daily and transportation is available within certain areas.
Specialized outpatient services for youth are offered at locations throughout New Jersey. Services include:
- Psychiatric Assessment
- Individual, Family and Group Counseling
- Psychological Testing
- Vocational Testing
- Psychotropic Medication Treatment
Diagnostic testing for psychiatric and/or organic/cognitive disorders such as attention deficit disorder, learning disabilities and other cognitive impairments is also conducted by psychologists.
All treatment, including necessary medical care, is coordinated with the primary care physician or referring professional (s). Each member of the staff is licensed and certified to deliver care in a particular area of specialty. Multi-disciplinary teams are directed by a board-certified child and adolescent psychiatrist. Teams may include:
- Child & Adolescent Psychiatrists
- Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW)
- Registered Nurse Specialists (MN)
- Child Life Specialists
- Allied Health Therapists
- Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselors (CADC)
- State Certified Educators
- Family Therapists (LFMT)
All SBBHN programs can be accessed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year through the SBBHN Access Center, which is staffed by clinicians trained in emergency services and assessment. At the time of the call, clients are matched with appropriate clinical care or community resources, depending on their needs. Immediate assistance is made available to callers in crisis, and emergency assessment also may be provided at SBBHN locations.
