Newark Beth Israel Medical Center behavioral health services include multiple levels of care along a continuum which includes highly specialized medical care for clients who require it. All programs are led by a multidisciplinary staff of experienced professionals with advanced training and certification in all facets of behavioral health.

• Psychiatric Emergency Screening Service (P.E.S.S.)

Newark Beth Israel is a state-designed emergency screening service for Essex County. Crisis intervention, stabilization, mobile outreach, crisis hotline and family crisis services are provided. Services can be accessed by the Emergency Department or by calling (973) 926-7416
